Founded by royal decree.
Located between Mesão Frio and Peso da Régua, Quinta do Côtto is in a privileged position. With vineyards surrounding the house, it has different exposures, always on schist soils. Ancestral vines, many of them over 100 years old and planted between 120 and 430 metres above sea level.
A landscape worth witnessing just 90 km from Porto city centre.

Decades before the Douro DOC appellation was determined, in 1961 the first non-fortified wine was produced at Quinta do Côtto. A wine made exclusively from the grape Sousão. The same vineyard still produces to date a varietal Sousão wine.

The first Douro DOC fine wine.

An iconic Douro brand from the Lower Corgo and 40 hectares of unique vineyards on the slopes of the Douro river banks.
